He has a really hard time recognizing that he needs people. He’s the precise person and hero that every woman wants to save. He abuses himself almost more than he abuses anyone else. The Hero: Bear Why a readerĭamaged, ultimately alone in this world by both abandonment and then by choice. If you haven’t read those, this might give away some things you’re not ready to read. WARNING: Spoilers for King and Tyrant below. She’s infuriating, and that makes Bear’s attitude toward her very relatable. In the next moment, you’ll learn why it was brilliant. In one moment, it’ll seem like the most stupid thing a character can do–kinda like the girls in horror movies that go running through the woods in heels. She goes through quite a bit of shit in this story, but in the end, the reader will absolutely see why she’s the absolutely right person for Bear! What readers will hate about her (her flaw) She’s had a rough childhood but has a survivor’s spirit that’s apparent from the get-go. It’s really hard not to immediately want to know what happens next when the heroine’s mother damages her in that way. Thia is a spunky little girl at the beginning of this novel with one hell of a backstory that the reader learns throughout the first book.
